I am a wedding and portrait photographer located between Concord and Salisbury, NC. I have been photographing weddings since 1998. I hate reading cheesy bios! I am sure you don’t care when I got my first camera! It really shouldn’t be all about me. It should be all about you and what you are looking for! So I am going to address what I think you want to know and what I would be looking for when hiring a photographer.
What kind of equipment do you use and do you have backup equipment in case anything breaks?
I carry three camera bodies and an assortment of professional quality lenses. I am currently using the Nikon D700, I recently switched from the Canon 5D.
Do you have a studio? Yes, I have a custom designed 1700 sq ft. studio located on 2 acres for both indoor and outdoor photography. No, it is not my home.
What if I want to go somewhere else for my pictures? Most of my sessions are shot on location. I would rather shoot somewhere that is meaningful to you. If you love to bowl, let’s go to a bowling alley! If you like the country, we will go somewhere that shows that in your pictures. If you are a downtown girl. let’s go there! Industrial? Rustic? You name it! There is no additional charge for on location settings!
What is your style of photography? I am often asked this in consultations. I think I use a variety of styles as you can see by looking at my website. I listen to my client and adapt my photography to meet the style they prefer. I shoot traditional shots to please the parents, photo-journalistic shots, fun shots, and some romantic shots. Most of my clients prefer a combination of styles.
Is this your full time job? How much time do you have to devote to my pictures? In other words how long am I going to have to wait to get my pictures online? Yes, this is my full time job, so I am able to devote my time to taking pictures and making sure they go online within a reasonable amount of time. Regular portrait sessions take five to seven days to process and put online. Weddings are online within three to five weeks.
